NOLLYWOOD ACTRESS MERCY JOHNSON SHARES NEW FAMILY PICTURE ( PICTURES)

Mercy Johnson, who is a star Nollywood actress and wife of an Edo State-born oil and gas businessman, Prince Odi Okojie, has shared a recent family picture. The Kogi State-born make-believe queen posted a picture showing her husband and her 10-month-old baby named "Purity' and tagged it 'happy Sunday'.

Even a day old baby would easily recognize the formidable spirit of the two jolly friends on stage. D’banj and Don Jazzy, no doubt, both dominated the music scene for nine years before the cookies crumbled and they went their separate ways. Today, they have formed individual group, D’banj-DB Records, Don Jazzy-Marvin Record, but something still seems to be connecting the two together.

In an interview recently, D’banj confessed that he really missed Don Jazzy whom he had spent the better part of his career with.

Hear him “If I say I don’t miss Don Jazzy, I am lying. I have spent the better part of my career with him. I was married to him in a way (laughs). So I miss everything about Mo’Hits: the family, the movement, and the vibe of being in the studio with him. I miss the jokes and the arguments, but I have since keyed into the notion that nothing can stop a moving train. Nevertheless we can always do music together. The track, ‘Top of the World’ was produced by a Grammy Award Winner. The songs ‘Finally’ and ‘Don’t Tell Me Nonsense’ was produced by my producer while ‘Oliver Twist’ was produced by Don Jazzy. So, why won’t I have him on my 10 years anniversary album?”

Does Don Jazzy feel this way too? Really, Don Jazzy, who now operates Marvin Records, has not opened up on their issue since their separation, he has remained focused with his business, shunning out hit songs to remain permanently on top of the game. We are waiting if he would indeed accept to feature in D’banj’s 10th anniversary album.

How did you meet?

Ijeoma: I had seen him perform before and I was impressed with his style of presentation. The day we met, he hosted a show organised by my friend. When it was time for him to leave, he could not because someone was blocking his car. During the brief period he waited to move his car, we got talking and he gave me his call card. When I got home that night, I decided to call him since he did not have my number. I felt it would be nice to have a comedian as a friend. This was in May 2004. We have been married for eight years.

Usher is taking his role as boxer Sugar Ray Leonard in the upcoming flick “Hands of Stone” very seriously — and it abs-olutely shows.

“My commitment to this character demands that I not only physically get ready, but also become him,” the singer said, in an interview with Men’s Health magazine for its November issue.“I train like an athlete every day, believe it or not,” he added.

Patience Jonathan, Nigeria’s First Lady has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate degree by a South Korean University. Reports say this will be the fourth doctorate she has gotten since becoming Nigeria’s First Lady. Hansei University, the institution awarding the doctorate said Mrs. Jonathan was honoured because she had worked “hard for many good causes.” “She’s a humanitarian who has dedicated her life to working for the less privileged in Nigeria and Africa especially for women and children,” president and Chancellor of Hansei University, Sung-Hae Kim said.

Reports say:

“Her vision as the defender of the poor in Nigeria fits into Hansei University’s motto of a practising Christian. Now she’s part of our community,” Prof. Kim added.

The university also said it chose her for the degree because of her dedication to prayer.

”I was surprised that she travelled here for the Church Growth International conference years back to pray for Nigeria. For her selfless work, Hansei University confers this degree on her,” Yonggi Cho, co-founder of the Hansei University.

For some minutes, hackers on Thursday took over the Twitter timeline of Ghanaian star, Yvonne Nelson. The cyber-hoodlums posted degrading and nasty tweets, enough to raise eyebrows.

The actress later took to her Twitter page, claiming the tweets were not from her and her account had been tampered with.

Terry G, also known as GZUS, was recently attacked by armed robbers on his way to perform at an event. Sources close to the singer disclosed that he was not harmed, but made away with some of his valuables including, phones, money, and jewellery among others.

We tried to keep it secret, but we have to say it out now! GZUS was attacked on Sunday by heavily armed robbers on his way to an event, we thank God they just collected his valuables. Though they later recognized him, but they did not return the valuables. We thank God for life, protection and guidance.

in the aftermath of Eedris Abdulkareem’s controversial lyrics insulting Don Jazzy for criticizing rap music, he says rap is profitable genre in Nigeria, the rapper solidified his point in a recent interview.

Eedris stated that though he's a huge fan of the Mavin Records producer, the comment was “stupid”, and that Don Jazzy has allowed the unanimous fame get into his head.

Though, the Marvin Record boss is said to have apologized for his erroneous comment, Edris, the controversial singer, is yet to flush the issue out from his system.

The latest hotel in town, InterContinental Lagos, was launched last Sunday 29th September 2013 at Victoria Island, Lagos.

The hotel, owned by the Milan Group had its grand opening done by His Excellency, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), Governor of Lagos State and saw celebrities, political persons and much more grace the event.

The Governor in his speech commended the promoters of the event for their vision regarding the hotel as a welcome development at a time Nigeria is looking for foreign investments to grow its economy.

Speaking on behalf of the owners of InterContinental Lagos, the Chairman of Milan Group, Ramesh Valechha, disclosed that the newly opened first luxury five-star hotel in the history of Nigeria has created 650 direct employments and scores of indirect employment in the hotel value chain.

The grand opening event was attended by eminent persons among whom were Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi; his predecessor, Chief Joseph Sanusi; Lagos State Commissioners for Commerce and Industry, Sola Oworu; Kayode Opeifa (Transport); Engr. Accidents are God’s will… they are inevitable – Stella Oduah, Aviation minister ( READ )

Four days after a tragic crash involving an Associated Airline plane killed 14 people in Lagos, Minister of Aviation, Mrs. Stella Oduah, on Monday described accidents as God’s will that are inevitable.

She said notwithstanding this reality, the Federal Government would continue to ensure there were no accidents.

Oduah made the submission while fielding questions from State House correspondents on investigations into the Thursday Lagos crash, the safety of the nation’s airspace and the suspension of Dana Air’s operations, among other issues.

While reacting to a comment that the latest crash had made nonsense of government’s much-talked about reforms in the aviation sector, the minister said, “We do not pray for accidents but they are inevitable. But we will continue to do everything to ensure that we do not have accidents. But an accident is an act of God.

“Again, we do not speculate on the cause of accidents. Until they happen, you cannot say this is the cause or that is not the cause. But what is obvious and is the truth is that, in aviation, there are shared responsibilities, starting from the man that carries your luggage to the man that makes sure that your boarding pass is issued to you.
