Latest :: Miss Kenya 2013 is Crowned



      
The Miss World Kenya Tiara was given to 23-year-old Wangui Gitonga after she outwitted a pack of ten ladies to win the prize. The title weighs heavy for the Linguistic student, at Sh1.3 million in cash, plus one year of grooming services at Ashley’s salons countrywide.The Kenyan pageant is run by Ashley’s proprietor Terry Mungai and was sponsored this year by the SNAPP brand, under East Africa Breweries Limited.
Last year’s winner Shamim Nabil handed over the crown at a glitzy event at the Safari Park hotel on Friday night, and got the chance to share motivational tips with her successor.The 1st runners up position and a token of Sh100,000 went to Leah Tesfamariam, a 1st Year student at Maseno University; while the third spot and Sh50,000 was taken up by Sophia Umwanza, a student at the Multi Media University.
