Obama appoints Former IMF official as National Security Deputy
President Barack Obama appointed Caroline Atkinson, a journalist to be Deputy National Security Adviser for International Economics. Atkinson had also worked at the International Monetary Fund, the U.S. Treasury Department, and the Bank of England.Atkinson will take the position vacated by Michael Froman, who became the U.S. Trade Representative. She will serve as the president’s senior international economic adviser, the White House said in a statement.
